Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-21-09  percyblakeney: This looks like one of those high quality games where nothing extraordinary happens but you realise how subtle many of the moves are when you start looking at them.

Around move 25 it seems as if black must lose the b-pawn without compensation, but then 26. Rxb6 can't be played because of Nxd4, and after preparing it with Rcb1 black's Ne7 prepares Nf5 if white takes the pawn:

The black rooks get active and white has very little pressure left (with moves like Nxe3 and Rc3 coming up). So then white keeps preparing to take the b-pawn with exchange on g6 and 28. g4, to stop Nf5, but then black has time for Ra8 followed by Nc8 and everything is covered.
