Mar-05-09  xiko9: Rb7 is the only move that can avoid Rc7+
Mar-05-09  Mulyahnto: I meant e4-e3 of course....

Marmot PFL: 46...Rb7 is probably forced but should be ok 47.g4 f5 and eventual draw.

Marmot PFL: Suppose this draws too with the rook behind the a pawn.
Mar-05-09  HFBA: <Marmot PFL: 46...Rb7 is probably forced but should be ok 47.g4 f5 and eventual draw.>

It's still a draw without the a7 pawn, black just posts his Rook on a2 and there's no way white can queen if black keeps his king in the right squares.

Mar-05-09  Kaspykov: White king cant help. they should agree on 1/2...
Mar-05-09  Dmaster995: Ra2 1/2-1/2
Mar-05-09  xiko9: the position of black on C rank isn't good to avoid the run of a pawn...white can check the king and then promote the pawn after Ra8

Marmot PFL: 47...f4 48.g4 Kf5-g4-f3 is another resource
Mar-05-09  Kaspykov: haha Dominguez is crazy, he is showing the will to play for a win.

:)

Mar-05-09  HFBA: <xiko9: the position of black on C rank isn't good to avoid the run of a pawn...white can check the king and then promote the pawn after Ra8>

As soon as white plays Ra8 and a7 black returns to the g7 square and a check is followed by black taking the rook and winning.

whiteshark: <47...f4!> is weakening White's pawn chain structure. Afterwards they are easier to attack.

<< Bondsamir>: ....Rb7 > in bg. we say: why being symple, when it could be complicated!

Marmot PFL: 49.Ra6 forces black to start checking, and the ending could get complicated.
Mar-05-09  Dmaster995: Rf8+ next. White must keep black's king out of f3.

PinnedPiece: I don't know from nothing, cause I would say 47..f4 was a mistake.

48. Rf7 seems strong to me.

PinnedPiece: Make that 49.Rf7 but now Radj has played Ra5.

Marmot PFL: It looks like a draw because of white's passive king.

Marmot PFL: This would be a theoretical draw even without the black pawn.
Mar-05-09  melianis: Draw, the only good pawn is on inferior side. I'm off.

PinnedPiece: Well, now, that wouldn't be a different kind or Rook dance, would it? But the white and black rooks sure know how to tango!

karnak64: Wow - but they played it down to the bitter end. Perhaps the bitterest of bitter ends.
