al wazir: 26. Ng5 would also have won.
Jun-22-14  Petalsian: <al wazir> Do you suggest 26.Ng5 with the idea of 27.(Nxf7)? If thats the case, how would white win after 26..Rf8? 27.Nxf7 Rxc7 28.Rxc7 Rc8 (with the idea of Rc7)

  bright1: <Petalsian> Aftet 26. Ng5 Rf8 27. Nxf7+ Rxf7 28. Rxf7 28. Rxf7 Rc8 then white can just play 29. Qe7 #
Jun-22-14  newzild: <Petalsian> I believe you have overlooked a mate-in-one, viz:

26. Ng5 Rf8
27. Nxf7+ Rxf7
28. Rxf7 Rc8??
29. Qe7#

This is a good old fashioned drubbing by Bob Smith, who is one of the best-known masters in NZ.

Jun-22-14  Petalsian: Thanks for the correction <bright1>, <newzild>. I didn't know Bob Smith but NZ it's a beatiful country and most important, has the All Blacks!!
Jun-22-14  hedgeh0g: Black's mistake was playing the passive 10...Ne7?

After 10...Ne5! 11.Nxe5 Qxe5 (11...dxe5 12.Qb5+ ) 12.Bb5+ c6 13.dxc6 O-O, the position is probably about equal.

Jun-22-14  Conrad93: Can we stop picking games just for their pun potential?

This game isn't even very good.

  perfidious: In which life?
Jun-22-14  Conrad93: No, I would know. This looks like something I would play in a one minute match.

Patzer tactics all over the place.

Jun-23-14  kevin86: White picks up a piece and a win.
