Mar-15-09  Marmot PFL: Kramnik should play 1 e4 more often.

  chancho: It's easy to see that 26...gxf6 27.Qxf6+ Kg8 28.Rd3 is curtains.

When 5 years ago he just plyed 1.e4 everybody was saying that he should return to 1.d4 & 1.Nf3.

  sallom89: great game.
Mar-15-09  Raginmund: indeed a very nice shot
Kramnik seems to be the best in blind games...
Radja is a great guy, unfortunately, I think he made things easier to Kramnik... Everybody was watching for what the move Qf7 was made for. . Well, I'm hoping for more action by Kramnik in rapid too. Go kramnik!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mike1: Funny, but 23...Qb7 looses....No stopping 24.Rxf6 even after Rf8! 23...Rf8 is no fun either but should be ok.

ajile: Black allowing Nxe6 fxe6 hardly ever works for Black. The structural/positional weaknesses are easily exploited by a GM of Kramnik's caliber.

whiteshark: Due to a computer crash after 16 moves the spectators were left guessing about what was happening in the blindfold game between Vladimir Kramnik and Teimour Radjabov.

Fortunately Kramnik kindly explained the course of the game after he’d won in a mere 24 moves. According to him he was soon much better as <10…Rc8> was a mistake. Castling queenside would have been better for Black.

Now after <12.Qf3> Kramnik felt that there was no defence for his opponent. ‘My plan is simple and straightforward and soon Black’s position collapsed.’ To which he added with a smile: ‘It was unexpectedly easy.’

Mar-16-09  TheChessGuy: If Vladimir decides to consistently mix it up by adding 1.e4 to his favorite 1.d4 and 1.Nf3, it could be a smart opening decision. It'll be interesting to see what kind of changes he has made to his game during his several-month break from chess.
Mar-16-09  shintaro go: Kramnik still has a <ton> of good games left in him. People write him off and leave him for dead but his game is still up there with the elite. If only he would play like this more often in classical controls and conditions..

Chicago Chess Man: So what happens if black plays 26...b4? I guess white has clearly won after 27. Rg6 Rg8. 28. Rgxd6 Qc5 29.Rgd3...black may get his piece back but will be down a lot of pawn. If anyone has a better line, please post.

acirce: To be honest, I think Kramnik just wants to avoid Radjabov's KID.
