ray keene: graham sandiford came to dulwich college from manchester grammar school-he automatically took top board in the dulwich college school team-i sharpened my skills against him and john sugden in numerous matches-they were the indispensable preparation for my entry into serious tournaments.at first- as in the above game-i had serious trouble against him-but later i started to get the hang of his style and won nearly all of our later encounters.

ray keene: 14..nf2+ is far too greedy and gets crushed-instead 14..ne5 and black is ok...na6 follows.whites follow -up attack is vigorous and well conceived.

FSR: 18...Bf5?? is practically a helpmate. What's wrong with simply 18...Bxe5?
