kamalakanta: Carlsen's game leaves a good impression. After 13.Qxe2 the White position is more pleasant. He can weaken Black's Queenside with a6 (if Black allows it), he will eventually play e4 and gain a positional advantage. Black is suffering from lack of space and also lack of a concrete plan of counter-attack.

Even after Black sacrificed the exchange, White had tremendous pressure on the Black position. Carlsen's 29.d5 opened up the game advantageously for White. Very nice to see how he prepared it with 27.Qe2 and 28.Qf3...After that, Carlsen's tactical execution was flawless!

Hi, Johnathan. It can certainly be played, but after 23...Bxc3 24.bxc3 the White pawn center is fortified, the b-file is opened, and I think Black did not want to have all the heavy White pieces bearing down on his backward b-pawn.

Mar-22-09  DeltaHawk: revenge.
Mar-23-09  JonathanJ: @kama: true, it seems that black is already lost around this time
Oct-03-09  magikk: it's easy for Carlsen! There are just magical moves sometimes:10-Be2, and Ne5,f3,d2,c4.No in fact it just seem simple , not magic lol.
