tamar: Hard to win though unless Topalov blunders in time pressure.

  hcbsb: 34.Rc6 was necessary, after 34.Rd4 Re8 -0.78 Rybka.

34...Rxd4 35.Nxd4 Rb4 +0.00

May-19-09  dotsamoht: Damn they are moving quickly!

OhioChessFan: Now he's tossing out 0.00
May-19-09  Nimzonick: Gotta love the daily moves 30-40 blitz
May-19-09  dotsamoht: 39 Kg3 even
May-19-09  dotsamoht: 40 Kh2 and Shredder still says even. But Shredder sort of sucks at the endgame. I think Black has chances.

  Mateo: 40...a5 41.Rd7 Ng5 42.f4 Rb2+ could lead to a quick draw.

tamar: White still has annoying threats like Rd7 so Black does not have enough time to win
May-19-09  Woody Wood Pusher: White has Rd7 threat now. Dang I was looking for a black win...
May-19-09  Ybrevo: Smells like a draw now - good game though.
May-19-09  jeremy24: Good game indeed. Thanks to all who showed up. Enjoy your days!

bernieno: Shredder thinks its a draw now. Actually it thought black ruined his position with the moves 32-34, but the advantage shrinked after the exchange of rooks on d4. But who knows if the last mistake has been made in this game?

bernieno: Well, obviously the last mistake has been made...

ray keene: much as i predicted-a bit of excitement but the balance of power never seemed to shift much one way or the other-a well fought draw between two players at the top of their form!
May-19-09  malthrope: A just result - draw. However, Magnus gets bragging rights winning the mini-match 1.5-0.5 :)
May-19-09  Bjornemann: Thank you for your insightful comments mr Keene
May-19-09  wanabe2000: <Nimzonick> <dotsamoht> I was watching the live feed and no one was "blitzing" moves. Sometimes it took a few minutes for the feed to catch up, thus the appearance of moving quickly. Interesting games today.

swordfish: Yes, 1.5 - 0.5 vs Topalov is impressive. However, something tells me Carlsen will have to win one or (probably) two more games to claim the tournament.
May-19-09  jmboutiere: If Rybka could tell to Carlsen 34 ... Re8... Oh Oh computer era
May-19-09  shintaro go: The gap between Carlsen and Topalov is shrinking fast..Topa's time is almost up.
Oct-29-09  jmboutiere: Pearl Spring Chess Tournament (2009):
Carlsen 8/10
Topalov 5.5/10,
gap is over.
Oct-29-09  WhiteRook48: 45....Ne6
