tamar: 27 c3 is a key idea, because if 27...Qxc3 28 Rb1 Nb6 29 Bh6 and the queen joins in from the horizontal with an attack on f7.
Jun-05-09  zealouspawn: nice finish, the sting at the end of the combination (the sort of thing alekhine is famous for) -- if Rxg8 then Qb3+, picking up the rook
Jun-05-09  zealouspawn: on second thought i'm not sure that black had to move his king there..
Jun-05-09  chillowack: <zealouspawn: on second thought i'm not sure that black had to move his king there..> Indeed, Black would have done better to play 60...Kd6, I think. Then White could not pick up the rook "for free," as he can in the game continuation, and therefore he would still have had to work a bit for the win.

Shams: <chillowack> still 60...Kd6 61.Bh7 wins the pawn next; after that it's easy to force the bishops off and dominate rook with queen and pawn. But yes, more work for white than in the game to be sure.
