Phony Benoni: <GrahamClayton> It looks like Brooklyn is correct:

<"In a simultaneous exhibition given by Frank J. Marshall at the Knickerbocker Field Club, in Brooklyn on Saturday> [April 8, 1916], <Captain Jay P. Hopkins of the Coast Artillery Corps surprised the United States champion in a way the latter has rarely, if ever, experienced before. Marshall, playing his favorite Danish Gambit, not only did not bowl over Uncle Sam's doughty defender, but actually was checkmated in eleven moves. It was the only game scored against the expert out of twelve played."> [Brooklyn Daily Eagle, April 13, 1916; score of the game is given as well]

So is Marshall the first known victim of the "Siberian Trap"?
