Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-17-09  Glossu: An incredible squeeze by the Kung Fu Panda of Chess!.
Aug-20-09  JohnBoy: Surprising that black did not claim a draw after move 36. Was he trying to win at that point? Hard to imagine.
Aug-20-09  ILikeFruits: is wang...
yue the...
highest rated...
asian player...
Aug-20-09  supertimchan: Black was playing for a win.
Aug-21-09  Don Cossacks: Nothing very special on this game.Timofeev should have accepted a drawn game but I admire his guts here.
Aug-21-09  kurtrichards: <ILikeFruits: is wang...yue the...highest rated...asian player...> Vishwanathan Anand (India), world chess champion, is the highest with 2788 elo rating (no.2 in the world) followed by Wang Yue (China)with 2727 (no. 18 in the world) and at third in Asia and no.33 in the world is Wang Hao with 2702 elo rating.

Aug-21-09  zealouspawn: There was no 3-fold rep guys... no draw to claim. (look again)
Aug-21-09  sharkw: I'm looking again, and the first repetition is the position after Black's 32...Kf7, the second is 34...Kf7, and the third is 36...Kf7. The rule is repetition of position, with the same moves playable (i.e. if castling or an en passant capture is not playable in a previous position it doesn't count as a repetition), even though the first time it was 32...Kf8-f7 instead of 32...Kg8-f7. So I agree with the others that Black could have claimed a draw.
Aug-22-09  Bobsterman3000: Nice technique from Wang.
Aug-23-09  ajile: This is a Stonewall Dutch opening.
Aug-24-09  JohnBoy: <zealous> - the positions after 32...Kf7, 34...Kf7 and 36...Kf7 are EXACTLY the same. Please explain "look again".
