ray keene: one of my very first recorded games-inspired mainly by a diagram in nimzowitschs my system of the game reti v yates new york 1924. btw its interesting that my school boy opponent , then 11 year old john sugden, who went on to become my eternal sparring partner, has recently scored a most creditable 6 1/2 out of 11 in the 2009 british championship, taking quite a high place. the practice may have come in useful!!

ray keene: 26 Qc2+ is of course also instantly decisive-if not stronger-however a move which results in the opponent's resignation can't be all that bad!
Mar-09-11  Oginschile: This may not mean much from a patzer, but your use of the whole board in your games is always fun to watch. In basketball terms your style always reminds me of a full court press, applying pressure to all 4 sections of the board. Very impressive.

ray keene: <oginschile> sorry missed this comment at the time-thanks very much-we used to call it :"Spiel auf beiden Flugeln" since we were both studying German at the time.
Oct-09-11  SimonWebbsTiger: spiel auf beiden flugeln -- play on both flutes, Ray? Not sure what wings or sides is in German.
