Oct-25-09  Sem: Hm. I was hoping for a fight, since so many games ended in a draw.

Eyal: The Petrov is arguably the most effective drawing weapon for Black today, but Polgar seemed especially clueless against it in this tournament - see also Judit Polgar vs A Giri, 2009. She could have kept playing for the sake of playing, but in both cases she really got absolutely nothing out of the opening. The "novelty" here, btw, was 13.h4 - instead of f4 (e.g., Adams vs Kramnik, 2008), Bxg5 or Nxe6 that have been tried before, so far without much success either.
