Eyal: What possessed Adams to play 37...Kf8? It's almost as if moves 37-38 by Black were designed to help White's attack - first putting the king on a square where it can be checked by the bishop, and then opening the diagonal for this check (38.Rb3 threatens Bxf4 and Black can't recapture, but taking on d5 with the other knight would have been less catastrophic).

starkidaway: let me get this straight. Black resigned 'cause 43...nf6 44.Bg5 Ke8 [only move] 45.Bxd7 wins since 45...NxB 46.Qxf7++

43....Nf4 44.f6+ Ke8 45.RxN RxR 46.Qb8+ Qd8 47.Qxd6 (using the pin and threating mate on f8!) Ne6 48.Bg7! and black is in zugzwang!

SetNoEscapeOn: In your first line <starkidaway>, after Nxd7 there is no Qxf7 mate because the knight blocks the rook along the 7th rank. Instead of Bxd7, Bxf6 simply clips a piece and more.
