  diagonal: Did the "Emir" resign too early against "Vic The Terrible"? Apparently not, because the notation above is incomplete:

Martin Leutwyler, coach of the swiss team was commentating this game on a swiss page as following:

(quote) An Brett 1 konnte Victor Kortchnoi gegen GM Dizdarevic mit Weiss gegen einen Igel spielen... und es gelang ihm ueberzeugend, den aus seiner Sicht sowieso minderwertigen Igel zu knacken. Erwaehnenswert ist, dass sich GM Dizdarevic stark unter Stellungs- und Zeitdruck stehend einzuegig Dh7 Matt setzen liess... wie seinerzeit Kramnik gegen Deep Fritz. (unquote)

Briefly summarized: Dizdarevic with his Hedgehog pawn formation was under pressure and in heavy time troubles when he was quickly mated-in-one (!) by Korchnoi.
