 | | Whitehat1963: Doesn't look good for white, but is it really hopeless? What would a pair of Rybkas come up with after 23. Qxd5? |

 | | tamar: Worse than hopeless after 23...Be6 |
 |
| Nov-22-09 | | dumbgai: Actually, the game's already over after 12...Bxc3. The defenses around White's king collapse very quickly after that. |

 | | zanshin: <Whitehat1963> Yes, it is hopeless. At the end of the game, the Rybka eval is -6.23, and drops to -12.34 after 23.Qxd5 because of 23...Be6 as <tamar> suggests. There is a mating threat with ...Qh4+. |

 | | zanshin: <Actually, the game's already over after 12...Bxc3.> It's amazing how quickly White's game collapses after 12.Qc5? (diagram) instead of, say 12.Nd4. Pretty embarrassing for Razik - not what you might expect from an IM ... click for larger view |

| Nov-22-09 | | ex0duz: Moro eats sub 2600 players for breakfast as usual. Love to watch how he dismantles them with relative ease, but pretty disappointing how he can't seem to make it work vs 2750's =[ |

 | | cornflake: <dumbgai: Actually, the game's already over after 12...Bxc3. The defenses around White's king collapse very quickly after that.> Razik's plan of 8.Bf4,9.Qb5,10.0-0-0, and 11.d5 was bad. White wants to get his central majority rolling as compensation for being down a pawn, but this isn't the way to do it. White's queenside castled position gets destroyed long before he gets in d5 and e4. Maybe Ragozin's old plan of 8.Be3 with the idea of O-0,Rfd1, and an eventual d5,Bxb6 and e4 is still playable (see Ragozin vs Bronstein, 1947). |
