Nov-21-09  econ1: It was fairly predictable Ray would play this way as he played the same variation in the 2009 US championship. Maybe he should've prepared something else?
Nov-21-09  Whack8888: It is somewhat painful to watch those two knights be so ineffective against the Rook and Bishop.

Is there any need for Black to 0-0-0 at that point? Maybe the position would work if a different move is played at this point.

Nov-25-09  birthtimes: A better line for Black may be 18...Nb4 19.Nxf7 Nxd3+ 20.Kb1 Rxe6 21.Nxh8 Re3 22.Rg2 g6 23.Rg3 Rxg3 24.hxg3 Ne5
Nov-25-09  birthtimes: Also, 12...Bf5 seems to be a significant improvement over 12...Nf6. Much room for exploration in this opening, since the main line is not favorable for Black...
