I'm fairly certain that with the moves 10...g5 and 11...Qd7 Andreikin wanted to get in 0-0-0 and then play for a kingside attack; however, after 12.d4 cxd4 13.cxd4 Bxb3 14.Qxb3!(better than 13.axb3)Nxd4 15.Bxd4 Bxd4 16.Nf3 Bb6 17.e5! black could no longer safely castle queenside; That left black with the unpleasant choice of castling kingside where the move 10...g5 had already compromised his castled position.
