Dec-02-09  noviant: Caruana misscalculated on 18. Bxf4...I prefer 18. Bc5, exchange the bishop and keep pressure on the Black King's side...

18.Bc5 leads White to immediate trouble: 18...c6 19.Qc4 b5 20.Qb4 a5 21.Qa3 b4. 18.Bxf4! is actually very good - the problem was with 22.Rxd6? Instead, White gets a strong attack after 22.g5+ Kf5 (22...Ke7 23.Rxe6+ Qxe6 24.Qxb7+) 23.Red1 Bc5 (23...Be5 Rd7) 24.Qc4! Bxd4 25.Qd3+ Re4 26.cxd4, though maybe Black can hold the draw by 26...Qe6 27.f3 Re8 28.Re1 Qd5.

Dec-02-09  Atking: It was a blitz and yes Caruana misscalculed. I think 17.f4 first 17...exf 18.Bd4 g6 19.Rde1 Kf7 20.h5 is very promising for White . So 17...c6 18.Qb3 (with 19.RxBd6) 18...Kh8 19.fxe Bxe 20.Bd4 White seems to me a bit better.
Dec-03-09  DiscoJew: I think I might have an argument here to claim "first".

Andrew Chapman: 25..Qe8 is nice. Unusual with a move in hand to be unable to prevent a back rank mate. The white queen on the one square b3 where it should not have been.

Really? does your computer randomly make comments on this site? is that legal, to publish something under someones name without real time consent?
Jan-11-10  noviant: Eyal: 18.Bc5 leads White to immediate trouble: 18...c6 I preffered exchange the Q for B + R, while Black's Rook still inactive and pressure the pawn on e5 and f4.
Feb-07-10  DiscoJew: No explanation?
