lost in space: Nice method to avoid the english attack. 6. Be3 Ng4 instead of 6...e5.

  black.pr0jekt: retarded choice of moves
Jan-30-10  Marmot PFL: The position looks difficult, but with 16 e5! Leko eliminates the dangerous black queen and brings home his half point with ease.
Jan-30-10  ChessYouGood: At move 14, Carlsen should have tried bxc6, opening up the b file for a rook and putting pressure on b2 with the plan of swapping light sqaured bishops after Be6. Qxc6 was asking for a non-eventful draw.

HeMateMe: Should white be playing for a draw? Seems to go against the idea that an elite player should try to win with white.
Jan-31-10  Abdooss: <Black.Project> <Retarded choice of moves> ? I beg to differ,as 6.. Ng4 was <Kasparov>'s arsenal against 6.Be3 . It was a dangerous weapon in <Kasparov>'s hands (and handbook) and now <Carlsen> has access to it. <Shirov> and <Judit Polgar> used to suffer a lot against 6..Ng4

euripides: <ChessYou> After <14...bxc6> 15.e5 may be strong e.g. 15...dex5 16.Bxe5 when the e5 bishop is hard to dislodge without exchanging the g7 one and Be6 would leave nasty weaknesses. White's advantage in piece activity seems to outweigh the risk of the the open b file.
