whiteshark: With <38...Bc2!> the white rook gets in the firing line of Black's two bishops:

e.g. <39.Rd2> (to protect Pd4 <... Ba5 40.Re2 Bd1> which wins the exchange.

Nov-01-10  JG27Pyth: @whiteshark... 39.Bc2 -- appears promising, but I think the line gets very tactical because protecting the Pd4 gets tactical -- Qxd4? leads to Bxe6+. So that leaves capturing Bxd4... consider: 39.Bc2 Rc1 40.Bxd4 Qe2 ... looks to me like it's heading down a tactical box canyon -- I'm not sure where it ends up.

  Sastre: After 38...Bc2 39.Rc1 Bxd4 40.Qe2, <40...Bb3 41.Rxd8+ Qxd8 42.Bb1 Qc1+ 43.Qf1 Qxf1+ 44.Kxf1 Bb2> looks strong for Black.
