Mar-07-10  Jim Bartle: That was quick.

What's the point of 20...h5, and why does Cheparinov move his queen back to f3, setting up the winning combination?

patzer2: Losing immediately was 21. Qf3?? Instead, 21. Kc1 keeps White in the game.

Black attacks the weakened King position with 21...Bxc2+! 22. Kxc2 Qb3+! 23. Kc1 Nb4! , when in order to avoid mate White must surrender the Queen with 23. cxb4 Qxf3 .

Mar-08-10  kurtrichards: Was it GM Cheparinov playing the white pieces? I can't believe he lost quickly.
Mar-08-10  aragorn69: Cheparinov's treatment of the Winawer is all but convincing... Go back to the computer opening lab, Ivan!
Mar-08-10  thathwamasi: <aragorn69> - I have other doubts. May be Topalov has a lot of French Defense prepared to play against Anand and Chep has orders not to play well against the winawer.....Chep's play in this game is certainly nowhere close to his actual levels of play....

Bondsamir: Cheparinov lost to Pologan in a similar combination in the world cup cycle last year.
