Marmot PFL: Funny that black gets such good play here yet the Dragon is still a good defense with colors reversed.
Mar-18-10  znsprdx: what is wrong with 31. Rd1; why h3?
Mar-18-10  GreenFacedPatzer: Carlsen wanders into trouble early, and Karjakin doesn't let him escape. Well played by Karjakin, particularly coming off that loss in the blindfold.

  Tabanus: If 16.d4 Rad8 17.Nc5 Bxc5 18.bxc5 Na4 19.Qc2 exd4 20.exd4, some engine lines:

a) 20...Bf5 21.Qb3+ Kh8 22.Qxb5 Bxb1 23.Qxb1 Qxd4 24.Be3 Qc3/c3 25.Bxb7 White is better?

b) 20...Qxd4 21.Be3 Qc3 22.Qe4

b1) 22...Bd5 23.Qxd5+ Rxd5 24.Bxd5+ Kh8 25.Bxb7 is interesting, who is better?

b2) 22...Bc4 23.Rfc1 Rf7 24.Rxc3 Nxc3 25.Qc2 Nxb1 26.Qxb1 Be2 27.Bxb7 Rxb7 28.Qe4 =

c) 20...Bc4 =

12.Bb2 looks safer, but more boring?

Mar-18-10  TheMacMan: Carlsen gonna get put back in 2700s soon by Karjakin, Nakamura, Kramnik :D !!!
Mar-18-10  ruelas007: This game is not classical so it does not count for the elo rating dude

why should it be good that carlsen gets back to the 2700 club?

Mar-18-10  Atking: Seeing your avatars <GreenFacePatzer> and <Tabanus> I feel something dramtic could happen... somewhat like the game... Right 16.Na5 (Tarrasch a Knignt on the...) put a doubt on Carlsen's preparation. The center looks so strong. Thanks for your analysis Tabanus. I will say unclear instead of equal but probably because my chess understanding is limited.
Mar-19-10  pulsar: <Seeing your avatars <GreenFacePatzer> and <Tabanus> I feel something dramtic could happen...> <Atking> And at such close proximity, too. LOL!
Mar-19-10  Astardis: <ruelas007: why should it be good that carlsen gets back to the 2700 club? >

'coz that's where the overrated boy belongs. At best, that is.

Mar-19-10  JuliusCaesar: You're surely not serious.

Carlsen is good but fanboys are braggart. If Carlsen goes back to 2700 club, his fans will be mad but will be held back in silence. Those fanboys usually trash talks against critics of carlsen.

Mar-23-10  The Rocket: "'coz that's where the overrated boy belongs. At best, that is."

Amen, when was the last time we saw magnus totally dominate a strong player? sure he played one good game against kramnik in london but thats about it... the other wins seems to be opportunitys created in time trouble and not from superior play..

Sep-21-10  BobbyDigital80: How is this an uncommon opening? It's just a typical English opening.
Oct-06-10  SetNoEscapeOn: <BobbyDigital80>

Great username :)

Jan-17-11  Lennonfan: <everybody!> im not a carlsen fan but if you reach 2800 plus he's gotta be doing something right..i think the lads destined for the world champ crown so its unfair to judge a 19/20yr old? by saying he hasn't dominated anyone...give him a chance eh?
