 | | whiteshark: <Whenever you have to make a rook move and both rooks are available, you should evaluate which rook to move and, once you have made up your mind... move the other one!> I wonder if Anand has considered it before he moved <14.Rac1>. |
| May-01-10 | | MTuraga: Anand gives up his last bishop and now Black's queenside pawns may vanish from the board. |
May-01-10
 | | twinlark: Great stuff. Now Topalov sacs a pawn for the central steamroller. The games afoot! |
| May-01-10 | | Albertan: Anand played 15.Bxc6 and Topalov replied 15...b5 |
May-01-10
 | | chancho: I guess Qc2 |
| May-01-10 | | ajile: A small psychological victory for Black. |
| May-01-10 | | vonKrolock: Topalov can play b7-b5 instead of taking back in c6 - funny, but hardly a *human* move |
| May-01-10 | | marcwordsmith: Woah Nellie! And now <Eisenheim> is vindicated!! |
May-01-10
 | | Marmot PFL: The board changes, and black could go from a pawn up to a pawn down. |
May-01-10
 | | thegoodanarchist: This looks suicidal for White, but my engine says it is equal! |
May-01-10
 | | talisman: x pawn |
May-01-10
 | | twinlark: 16. Qc2. Spoilsport! |
| May-01-10 | | Hoozits: Doesn't this just lose a pawn, or is the demise of the Catalan bishop adequate compensation? |
May-01-10
 | | Ulhumbrus: On 14...Bd7 15 Nd6 threatens Nxb7 followed by Bxc6. On the other hand if Black can play neither ...Bd7 nor ...b5, how can he get his Queen's bishop out? White has a lead of four moves in development, too much for a pawn, but not quite enough for a pawn as well as the bishop pair. However White seems able to make his lead in development count and Black seems to be able to do little with either his pawn or his bishops. This this suggests that is is White who has the advantage. |
| May-01-10 | | birthtimes: Black has just freed his position immensely with his 14th and 15th moves... |
May-01-10
 | | Jack Kerouac: N-D6 was interesting, but probably flawed. |
May-01-10
 | | chancho: Qxc6 Nxe5. |
May-01-10
 | | Marmot PFL: 16 Bxb5 might be better than Qc2 but now Anand can employ his main match strategy - offer the queen swap. |
May-01-10
 | | Eisenheim: just like i said, b5 |
May-01-10
 | | Open Defence: looks like Topalov will not want to be shaking hands soon... |
| May-01-10 | | ajile: Rybka likes Qa5. |
| May-01-10 | | MTuraga: Black is now saddled with an isolated queen pawn. Looks like a Tarrasch defence game. |
May-01-10
 | | Hesam7: IQP with no Queens, I guess we will see another draw here. |
May-01-10
 | | talisman: quenns come off. |
May-01-10
 | | plang: At least Topalov has succeeded in reaching a position more to his style. |
