Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-07-10  mpl: A very impressive game. The Sicilian standard sac 15. ♘d5 leads here not to an immediate mate but a long lasting initiative that finally accumulates to the decisive attack with 23. g5! hg5 24. ♖hg1! g6 25. ♗f3!
Aug-07-10  TrollKing: I have read Hans Kmoch's classic "Pawn Power in Chess".

In that book he annotates the game Andrija Fuderer - Savielly Tartakower (Bled 1950).

In that game white uses a series of what Kmoch calls 'levers' to pry open the black position. This game reminds me of that.

White used both pieces and pawns to relentlessly assault the white king position until it was torn open.

I absolutely loved going through this (the current)game!

It also amazes me how often even the strongest players can get into tactical trouble by leaving their king in the middle of the board.
