Mar-27-18  RKnight: The end of this game is powerful. White's king N, still in its original square until move 30, decides the game in two hops. In fact 31 Ne5! is pleasingly multipurpose: 1) Immune as 31...Bxe5, 32 Qxe5+ leads to mate. 2) Threatens Nf7+ winning the Q. 3) Threatens Nc6+ another fork. 4) Enables 32. Bxa4. 5) Defends B2 by blocking the B
Mar-27-18  RookFile: Steinitz thought he could put his pieces on the back rank and wait for his opponent to do something stupid. It actually worked out for him a decent number of times, but Pillsbury is exactly the wrong sort of opponent to try this against.
