Oct-08-11  hellopolgar: I assume that the pun is a reference to Steve Jobs.

GrahamClayton: Purdy resigned as McIntosh had sent the following series of conditional moves:

19. exd5 Ncd3+ 20. Bxd3 Nxd3+ 21. Ke2 Bb5 22. Qg1 Nf2+ 23. Ke1 0-0 mating or winning the Queen.

Oct-08-11  zubenator: that's kinda morbid, isn't it :( but maybe it's a celebratory pun :)

kevin86: White's blunder just means that he wasn't using the old Apple.
Oct-08-11  lemaire90: It's fascinating to understand why the e4 pawn could never actually capture the bishop and rook ! Great play by McIntosh. Too bad it took Steve Jobs's death for this game to be GOTD.
