stoy: The last seven games listed under "Mikhail Botvinnik" who died in 1995 are by somebody else. The great Mikhail Moiseevich Botvinnik was inactive in 2010.
Oct-23-10  Pygeum Lycopene: i think the men in charge of this site beg to differ. chessgames is too smart a place to allow such an error, they must know something we don't. maybe we can have a botvinnik-smyslov halloween 2010 match?
Oct-23-10  patzerchild: I ran across this a few weeks ago. Out of curiosity, I did some searching on the internet. It appears that the 2010 games were played by a 27-year-old Israeli player who is also named Mikhail Botvinnik, but I couldn't find much else about him. Was he actually named after the World Champion, or is it just a coincidence?
