queenfortwopawns: I have nothing constructive to say except I am the first to post on this game. This doesn't happen often.
Oct-26-10  Major Dude: Anand makes it look deceptively easy. Reminds me of Capablanca's games.
Oct-26-10  crazy monk: White 13,14,15 moves is very uninspired.
Oct-26-10  anandrulez: Yes Anand made it look easy but a 2750 player like Wang going down so easy is really surprising to me . White seems to have missed the Queen exchange idea.
Oct-26-10  Indiachess: The reason why no comments are seen here is that: The game was posted here long after it was over. A lot of comments on this game are seen at other games. While some of the games are posted live some games are posted after a long time they are over. So those interested following live are seen commenting at other places like http://livechess.chessdom.com/site/

Yes, I was thinking the same thing! Anand can play different styles and all so well. A remarkable WC.

Oct-26-10  SharpAttack: Looks like game from the period when Capablanca, Alekhine, Lasker, Nimzo etc used to play. Simple yet compelling. Very nice play by Anand.
Oct-26-10  zealouspawn: Doesn't 19. f4 seem to be a terrible positional move? I understand 19. exf6 doesn't seem like a compelling option but it looks better than the game continuation..

  Sastre: White loses a pawn after <19.exf6 Bxf6 20.Rab1 Bd3 21.Rbd1 Bxb2>.

Marmot PFL: White is in trouble from move 13 on, trading into a bad ending.

Eyal: <White is in trouble from move 13 on, trading into a bad ending.> Yeah, maybe when he played 13.Qa4? he didn't realize that in case of 16.Bxd5 Rad8!, with all of his minor pieces half-hanging, he would have to give back either the pawn or an exchange (with e4) in a clearly inferior position. One amusing line is 16.Bxd5 Rad8 17.Bf4 g5 18.Bc7 Rc8 19.Be5 Rfd8 and now 20.e4, allowing ...Bxf1, is forced (if the bishop retreats, ...Nxe5 wins a piece).

woodthrush: Instead of 13. Qa4, white's two rooks are screaming to be centralized! Why not Rc1 and Rd1 to pressure the center? Qa4 simply invited black to gain two development tempi. Before Qa4, white had connected rooks and black was two moves away from it. By move 15 black's rooks were connected!
Oct-26-10  shintaro go: Wang Yue seems to always end up in worse endings.
Oct-26-10  slomarko: Wang is cr*p
Oct-27-10  DeepFriedLiver: Wang Yue is certainly out of his league in this tournament, and I haven't been impressed with his apparent eagerness play for a draw. But he is currently the #10 player in the world on frogbert's list. So it might be premature to call him "cr*p."

perfidious: One suspects that wang's TN 11.Nd2 is unlikely to be emulated, though the positions arising after 11.cxd5, as played in other games, leave the Catalan bishop little to do, as it bites on granite at d5. If White isn't careful, this can cause him to drift into an inferior position.

Eyal: The novelty is actually Anand's ambitious <12...c5!?>, instead of 12...Nd7 played in Karpov vs A Ushenina, 2008. As already pointed out, 13.Qa4? is not at all a good way to deal with it - the most testing move seems to be 13.bxc5, on which Anand may have planned 13...Nc6 or Nd7 with some sharp play.

perfidious: <Eyal> I'm afraid your sarcasm is a bit subtle for me; where did I ever mention 'As already pointed out....' 13.Qa4?

Thank you for your enlightening putdown.

Eyal: <perfidious> No sarcasm intended - with "already pointed out" I was referring to previous posts on this page by <Marmot PFL> and myself, not to your post.
Oct-28-10  BobbyBishop: "Anand Beats Wang - pictures to follow". My that's awfully personal of Chessbase.
