 | | AylerKupp: Probably because White's first name is "Darwin". |
| Jun-03-12 | | tonsillolith: We are certainly past the golden age of puns around here. |
| Jun-03-12 | | BadKnight: what, creationists are not fighting here? |

 | | FSR: <BadKnight: what, creationists are not fighting here?> It's past their bedtime. |
| Jun-03-12 | | DanielBryant: I like the pun even if nobody else does *shrugs* |
| Jun-03-12 | | nikromos: 23 . . . d2 just wins outright for black. If 24. Kd1 c2. |
| Jun-03-12 | | nikromos: Scratch that. 25 Qc2. |

 | | zakkzheng: I seen this game from benjamin finegold. |

 | | Chessmensch: Darwin Yang should play Hao Yin. Apart from the evident pun raw material, this means light and dark (i.e., white and black), respectively, so it's perfect for chess. |

 | | maxi: Recently in an archeological excavation at the Punjab province (Pakistan), a chessboard was found with its pieces still in place. The position was one the variations of the poisoned-pawn line of the Najdorf Defense. This sensation discovery has completely upset all of our theories of the development of chess. |
| Jun-03-12 | | rilkefan: 22.Rxf6 was crushing after Qh5+.
Black had to play something like 14...h6. Or 12...Qe7 or Bd7 or Be7 and try to keep a solid center/kside and attack on the qside. |

 | | David2009: Black seemed to take extraordinary risks to win. As late as move 25,

25...d7+ seems to draw comfortably for Black (interactive link just before White plays 25.bxc3:

| Jun-03-12 | | rilkefan: <Is this your attempt at trolling the rest of us .> DNFTT.
<David2009> - I played 26.Kd1 Rb8 27.Rxa7 Rh6 28.c4 Qd6 29.Qd5 QxQ 30.cd Rg6 31.g3 Rg5 32.Rd3 and black's hosed, I think. |
| Jun-03-12 | | Jason Frost: <David2009> Pretty sure black is simply trying to hold on there. And it's a fairly easy win for white, even 25...d2+ 26. Kd1 Rb8 27. Rb7 Rxb7 28 Qxb7 is a win since black can't hold the d pawn and white's king is actually safer click for larger viewAlso not sure what problem everyone has with the pun. Pretty good game and the pun seems better than average. |
| Jun-03-12 | | KingV93: Is black doomed after <18...0-0> or just down a piece. Seems like <..cxb2+ and ...d3...d2> might offer the chance of a swindle. |
Jun-03-12
 | | OhioChessFan: I have to agree with <rilke> Playing over quickly, 14...h6 is obvious. Black had to think he had a win with a Pawn storm. |
Jun-03-12
 | | OhioChessFan: <KingV> 18...0-0 19. Bb3 holds the passed Pawns and White is done. |
Jun-04-12
 | | FSR: <Chessmensch: Darwin Yang should play Hao Yin.> I made essentially the same observation on Yang's player page. |

 | | FSR: <OhioChessFan: ... Playing over quickly, 14...h6 is obvious.> How do you respond to 15.Nxe5? |
| Jun-04-12 | | rilkefan: 15.Nxe5 Rg8 with ...g5 and a counterattack to come. Or if that doesn't work, ...Qb6 or ...Qc7. Or even 15...O-O might be better. Anything to save a tempo or push back white's kside pieces. |

 | | kevin86: If spelling didn't,I could put both names in the same sentence: Since the Supreme Court dismissed McCain-Finegold with the Americans United decision, economic DARWINism will now dominate campaign finance for the forseeable future. |
Jun-04-12
 | | OhioChessFan: I prefer 14...h6 15. Nxe5 0-0 |
