Nov-06-10		Marmot PFL: 28...Qc4 with threats on pe2 seems good, and if queens are traded the c pawn is passed and Bh6 is loose. 29 Rb8+ does not look dangerous enough to prevent.

Because the tournament rules clearly state that draw offers are not allowed at this event (only draw claims) the arbiter had to say no. Nov-06-10		Marmot PFL: <euripides> 30...Qxe2 31 Qh3+ Kg6 and there are no more checks and in fact black is threatening 32...Qxf2+ Kh1 Qf3+ etc., but this could be tricky enough to avoid if black was short of time. Getting rid of e2 makes the d pawn a winner if black gets through the tactics.

Nov-06-10		euripides: <marmot> thanks - I had just deleted my post as I had noticed <28...Qc4 29.Rb8+ Kh7 30.Bf4 Qxe2 31.Qh3+> Kg6 after which as you say Black seems to be fine.
