Nov-10-10  Marmot PFL: After a promising start this game fizzled out once the queens came off.

  Peligroso Patzer: The trap (<14 … hxg6?? 15. Bxd4! Qxd4 16. Qe1 > was revealed today in Nakamura vs Caruana, 2013.
Sep-29-13  csmath: The trick has been on the books for a while.

If a player like Victor Mikhalevski knows it so should Caruana. Postny played into it twice in games this year that are not in this database and in both cases his opponents (rated much lower than Caruana) answered correctly.

Peligroso Patzer: Anyone wanting to see the various comments posted to today’s game between Nakamura and Caruana (in which the latter blundered badly on move 14) should use this link:

Nakamura vs Caruana, 2013

The link I originally provided was apparently a temporary version available whilst the game was in progress. The earlier-provided link does still (as of this posting) connect to a copy of the game, but to a version sans comments.

Sep-29-13  csmath: Thanks.
