 | | tamar: Quite strong play by Karjakin.
But I wonder how much was theory. The moves 21 h4 h6 22 Bg5! have the look of home preparation. click for larger view |

 | | goldenbear: Hard for me to see where this went wrong for Black. Does 32.Qe6 help? |
| Dec-15-10 | | zealouspawn: by dreadful I think he means really good. Karjakin really closes this out effectively... |
| Dec-15-10 | | zealouspawn: in the final position, if ..Kb4 then Qa7 seems to be the most clinical finish. |
| Dec-19-10 | | arnaud1959: I was looking at 36.-dxe3 I only see a won pawn ending for white. 37. h8+ g8 38. xg8+ ( xd8+ xd8 39. xg8+ e7) e7 39. xd8 ( xd8+? xd8 40. xd8 e2)exf2+ 40. f1 xd8 41. xd8+ xd8 42. xf2 e7 43. f3 e6 44. f4 b4 45.b3 and white has 2 extra waiting moves with his g pawn and will be able to go first to f5 and then to win the f-pawn. Really amazing! |

| Dec-20-10 | | checkmateyourmove: even if he had home prep up past move 24 or so , it still took a heck of a clean finish . beauty of a game |
| Dec-21-10 | | TheRavenPK: Yes, finally got it.. I examined perhaps every line after 49..Kb4 to convince myself that <zealouspawn> is right. I think that best play is 50.Qa7 Ra6 51.Qxd4+ Kb3 52.Qc3+ Ka2 53.b4 with Ra1# to follow. Nice play by Karjakin, to put the King into the middle and than slay him at the other corner of the board. |
