Penguincw: Not really a queen sac.
Mar-15-11  fab4: On move 20 Ivanchuk's position looks uncomfortable. It's the h8/a1 diaganal which is the main problem.

25 Rc2 and 26.dc cost the exchange and the game. Maybe swinging the knight back to c3 and looking to play e4 was a better plan, but even this looks dubious.

Mar-15-11  fab4: Maybe instead of 25.Rc2 (just drifting). 25.e3 planning Nc3/e2/f4
Mar-16-11  PeterThePatzer: I have loved Chucky's games over the years and I hope he finds his top form again soon.
Mar-17-11  Ulhumbrus: Instead of 9 0-0, 9 bxc5 may gain some advantage for White after eg 9...dxc5 10 Qc2
Mar-17-11  fab4: <Ulhumbrus: Instead of 9 0-0, 9 bxc5 may gain some advantage for White after eg 9...dxc5 10 Qc2>

Ivanchuk did'nt go wrong this early on .

Mar-17-11  fab4: 12.Bg5 looks suspicious.

Maybe just 12.e3 because after 12..d4 13.Ne4 the knight on a5 looks stupid and white still has a potentially fluid centre.

Jan-05-12  master of defence: Why not 51...Bxb6? If 52. e7 Re3 53. e8=Q Rxe8 54. Bxe8 h1=Q.
