Phony Benoni: A thunderous finish, not to mention the unplayed lines. How do you mate after 25...Kh8?

Jan-29-13  dougiejfresh: I think its 26. Rh1+ Bh5 27. Rxh5+ gxh5 28. Rh7+ Kxh7 29. Qg7#
May-14-15  mruknowwho: 23. Rxh7:That's not a good move. That's a gorgeous move.
May-14-15  morfishine: If this doesn't get your chess juices flowing, nothing will
May-14-15  newzild: Good game!

By the way, has anybody else's board suddenly changed so that it shows an outline around the squares of the last piece to move? It's very annoying, and I can't find a way to switch it off.

May-14-15  morfishine: <newzild> Mine does, but its very feint. I never noticed til you mentioned it

Annie K.: <last move highlighting> - this is a very new feature, just since 2 days ago. Currently there's no option to turn it off, but the admins are looking for feedback, and if people don't like it, it will be possible to turn it off in the future.

Although you may just get used to it soon - I like it, myself. ;)

Clicking on d7 square turns it off. :-)

Annie K.: <FairyPromotion> Oh,excellent, thanks! That will save the admins some work. :)
May-14-15  moi: After the quiet 21... Nd7, it seems that black would be better. white's Nb1 is missplaced, c4 is problematic for white and black's a pawn will be quick enough.

What do you think?

Same here. If it were more noticeable, it would annoy me.

May-14-15  kevin86: The pieces fly in this one! White wins despite many pieces under fire!
May-14-15  thegoodanarchist: Nothing speedy about this game. I was expecting a miniature!
May-14-15  thulium: Gonzalez is not so much speedy as bold as brass leading up to Rxh7! and gets yet bolder. He's probably a great poker player too.
May-14-15  newzild: Thanks <FairyPromotion>.
May-15-15  Moszkowski012273: 21...Nxe4 wins quite easily for black.
