Penguincw: 12...Rxd6 was probably the first mistake.
Nov-27-12  fokers13: Hmm i actually like black's position throughout the middlegame,maybe 37..Bd4 was better?
Nov-27-12  Nerwal: 37... ♗d4 is probably met by an exchange sacrifice as often in those Benoni structures. I agree that black seemed to have decent compensation for the exchange and no real ground for concern, although he probably cannot hope for more than a draw as white is pretty solid. Perhaps the rook sacrifice at move 42 was wrong and the modest 42... ♗c7 enough to hold.

perfidious: <fokers13> Had Gashimov played 37....Bd4, 38.Rxd4, as mentioned by <nerwal>, would have been crushing. With the rook under attack, there is no way to meet the threat of 39.Nf6+, with devastation to follow.
Nov-27-12  fokers13: Hmm i must admit having never tried such openings in ptaxis i haven't really even simple combinations like this can go over my head.

<nerwal> houdini agrees with your assessment, black goes from a drawn to a lost position in one go.

perfidious: <fokers13> Drawn, or simply even chances?

Seems to me there would be a lot of play left in the position, as distinct from being drawish.

Nov-29-12  fokers13: <perfidious> Well it's a 0.00 which doesn't leave hope for much besides blunders,but if we're gonna be meticulous about it,i guess it's indeed equal.
