  parmetd: 20... Rxf3!! 22... Nxf3! Then she missed the K.O. move 24. Qa8! game over. Too bad. She has another shot to play Qa8 later with less effect.
Apr-19-11  SimonWebbsTiger: yes, indeed. Ashley, Shahade and Nakamura were getting worked up about 24...Qa8 in their analysis. And the groan from Maurice when Rd8 was played instead. She was in a bit of time pressure though. Haven't seen any post game chat with her; maybe she didn't see it due to zeitnot?

  parmetd: I saw instantly because I played a similar game where that was the winning move. It took me quite some time in my game to find it. So I have the pattern recognition let me see it instantly this time around. FYI, she had 14 minutes at this point. Which isn't really time pressure 16 moves. She could have found the KO.
