Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-12-12  Expendable Asset: Would 8... Ne6 have served Black better? It allows 9. Qg4 g6 (10. Bg5 is negated) and 9... d6 to be possible.... Perhaps Black was concerned with 10. f4, but 9... d6 should solve that problem for him. Maybe Black was afraid of 9... g6/9... d6 10. h4!?, which does seem to cause him some trouble.
Sep-12-12  Expendable Asset: <Maybe Black was afraid of 9... g6/9... d6 10. h4!?, which does seem to cause him some trouble.> Correction: 9... d6 10. f4 followed by h4?! looks dangerous for White. If 10. exd6 then ...Bxd6 and Black is okay.

Does anybody else have a clearer answer as to why Black chose not to play 8... Ne6 ?
