wwall: Perhaps this is the first Larsen's Opening (1.b3) played.

After 9...O-O?, White could have played 10.d4. After 10...exd4 (10...Bb6 11.Ba3) 11.exd4 Bb6 12.Ba3, White wins the exchange.

22...g5 looks wrong. Perhaps best is 22...Qd6 or 22...Bc8 23.dxc6 Rxd2. After 22...g5 23.e4 Bg6 (23...gxf4 24.Qxf4; 23...Bc8?? 24.Nd3, threatening 25.Qxg5+) 24.Nxg6 and 25.Qxg5 wins.

Instead of 25...Qd6, if 25...Qb6, then 26.Na4 Qf2 27.Qxf6 wins.

After 27...Rd7, White plays 28.Qh4, threatening 29.Qh8 mate.

Sep-16-13  parisattack: Almost a Hippo. Lot's of flavors and hybrids of the Hippo - as we learn in the fine tome 'Winning with the Krazy Kat and Old Hippo'.

He must have learn to play in India...

May-03-17  Yigor: Yeah, that's the first historical appearance of Nimzo-Larsen Attack. 3. g3 should be called NLA: Modern Variation: Van't Kruijs Attack. The main line is 3. e3.
