wordfunph: my heart, mind and chessbucks to Chucky!

"It's not easy to live with a chess player. Normally chess players are not very communicative people. We close the door and study. It's a lonely occupation."

- GM Vassily Ivanchuk

Sep-11-11  KKDEREK: Go chuck!!!
Sep-11-11  KKDEREK: I meant <ivan> chuk. :p

Sep-11-11  Blunderdome: What a great picture of Grischuk. I'm not rooting for him, though.

HeMateMe: Somehow Chucky's the peoples chess player--rumpled clothes, plays erratically at times, capable of a brilliancy, wry comments, sometimes appears to be on another planet. He's looks like what all of us chess amateurs *feel* like, at times. Go Chuck!

whiteshark: "I consider chess to be not only a sport, not only an art and not only a science. It’s a model of sorts for life, a method of thinking, a perception of the world."

Sep-12-11  chezzy: Overall score sofar: Ivanchuck - Grischuk 9-5 with 16 draws.
Sep-12-11  nfwbyf: Go Sanja!
Sep-12-11  pulsar: Chucky FTW! I think it was <Domdaniel> who noted in one of his kibitzes the resurgence of the 90s chess elites, including Gelfand and, possibly, Judit Polgar; I suspect Ivanchuk is joining the bandwagon, he's been hovering the peak too long already. It's Chucktime!
Sep-12-11  WiseWizard: !!!!!!!!!!!
Sep-12-11  positionalgenius: Its nice to see some of the earlier generations(1985-2000) making a noticeable surge in WCC competition lately. I want to see Ivanchuk win the whole thing.

Beholder: Unlike the other pair Svidler - Pono, where I clearly prefer Svidler, here I really like both players. Whoever wins, I'll be sad the other one has lost :(

So you can root for the three of them to finish 1-3 so they can qualify for the next cycle (the person finishing 4th won't qualify).
