Strongest Force: Chucky is like a wild man on fire and out of control. Wave a red cape at him at your own risk

haydn20: Aronian didn't take the bait with exf7+ which would have been fun.
Sep-30-11  Gordon1306: I think White's attack is very dangerous. After the Black f pawn falls, there is the serious threat of a B sac on g6.

robotin: I love Chucky ! What a talent. Aronian is toast if he makes the slightest error .

  Anatoly21: <Ulhumbrus: <Anatoly21: 17.f5 cxd4 18.fxe6 dxc3 19.exf7+ Kg7 20.O-O looks interesting. Probably equal but hard to tell.> How about 20...d4 closing the a1-h8 diagonal towards the Black King on g7 and opening the h1-a8 diagonal for Black's Queen's Bishop on b7> In that case, 20...d4 21.bxc3 Qd5 22.Nf3 dxe3 23.c4 and I think Black holds a slight edge. Good find!

Ulhumbrus: On 19....d4 White may be able to play 20 e4. This suggests 19...Ne4
Sep-30-11  Marmot PFL: 0-0 is better as he can use the f-file and fe6 is bad - Bxg6. Best maybe Ne4 to close that diagonal

scormus: Well, the only move I can see consistent with the last few of his is ... d4. What was that expression "balls to the wall"?

  haydn20: 19. 0-0 with pressure on f6 is a high-class move.

Sneaky: It takes a lot of heart to castle into the side where your pawns are extended, over which an enemy fianchettoed bishop is casting its shadow.

The old saying goes, "The best solution to a flank-attack is a counter in the center." But where and how? Is 19...d4 really possible at all? Maybe he needs to play fxe6 first.

Anatoly21: 20.exf7 Kg7 seems most natural here. But what to play after that? 21.Rae1? 21.Qh2?

  Ulhumbrus: 20 exf7+ Kg7 21 e4 may be inadequate after 21...Qc7 attacking the N on e5 which defends the f7 pawn

SteinitzLives: Nxf7 played, not the best, bad bad.

SteinitzLives: Qd5 and the counterattack is on!
Sep-30-11  Marmot PFL: By far Aronian's most aggressive game. Against Nakamura he hardly tried anything.

scormus: well, that one way of trying to deal with the ... Qd5 threat. I wasnt really expecting it though
