tarek1: in case of Re7 by Black, I wonder if the sac Rg6 works...

Domdaniel: if 46...Qc7 then 47.Rg6+! is neat.
Oct-01-11  Marmot PFL: Taking the queens off looks like the simplest way. Then black can resign as he has no chance to complicate.

tarek1: Actually what he played is safer because Rg6 would have led to R+N vs Q ending perhaps not so easy to win
Oct-01-11  Gordon1306: I think White had better than this Queen exchange.

Domdaniel: Yeah, this is easy for White. One of those positions where a Knight is helpless vs a Rook.
Oct-01-11  Marmot PFL: Black would like his rook behind the a-pawn, but it needs to protect his kind from mate. The Nd4 was strong with queens on but now is almost irrevalent.

norami: Oddly enough there are positions where king, rook and rook pawn cannot beat king and knight. A Lasker-Lasker game ended that way.

haydn20: What is the etiquette in making White finish this off?
Oct-01-11  Gordon1306: Surely White must now push the a pawn?

Ulhumbrus: One way for Black to lose quickly is 55 Re7+ Kc8 56 Rc6

  haydn20: 55 Rg7+ was even deadlier.
Oct-01-11  Gordon1306: 55. ... Re7 is forced.
