Oct-14-11		kellmano: The win given at the time seems rather simple. 36....Ng3+ 37. Kh1 Ne2+ 38. Kh1 Rg8 and the white rook cannot access g1, so has no counterplay. The computer also claimed the two pawn advantage was significant. Twice Moro had over +5 for a period of moves.

Kg1 ..Ne2+ 38.Kh1 Rg8 Ironically the greater the capacity to calculate variations;the greater the margin for error particularly in this type of dynamic position e.g. WHAT IF 38.Kf2 Nf4+ 39.Kf3 Qg2+ 40.Ke3! Qe2+ 41Kd4 Rx[B]f6!? 42.ex[R]f6 Qd2+ 43.Ke5 Nh5 44. Qf7 Qd2+ 45.Ke5 Qe2+ 46. Kd6 Qx[R]f1 47.Qx[N]h5+ Kg8 48.Qe8+ secures the draw by perpetual check but after ...Kh7 49.f7 gives White winning chances if Black cannot maintain a perpetual check

Oct-21-11		Stanley Yee: I thought Shirov simply overlooked that 11. Ne2? trapped his own Bishop. 14...g6 seems better than giving up the f7 pawn.
