Wild Bill: I also predict a draw. That is what Kramnik and Aronian do.

Jesus, and all these years I thought you need to win to get to #3 & #2 on the rating list.

Going out on a limb, are you?

OneArmedScissor: Kramnik wins in a King's Indian.
Dec-12-11  fligorna: Drawnik, very unpleasant person, who play so ordinary, so tedious chess.. I wonder what his fans like in his "style". Go, Leva, GO !

waustad: When I've seen interviews or post mortems, Kramnik seems to be a genial person. Not at all what I expected from listening to a Bulgarian friend after the Elista match.

whiteshark: There can therefore be only one message sent out from here today, and it is this: we need a benchmark. <Who is the best, the most creative, the most successful chessplayer> in implementing common decisions?

Not at all what I expected from listening to a Bulgarian friend after the Elista match. > I suggest that it was a mistake to have that match played in Elista. If it had been played in Bonn, for example, and if Kramnik had the taken the lead and won the match therw would have been no excuses.

HeMateMe: Wrong game. Load up the Dull Gun. The other three games all have a player who needs to punch out a win, to try and win the tournament. That's a lot of euros, baby. In particular, Naka and McShane will be coming out guns a blazing. Of all the players, Carlsen seems to be the biggest favorite to win, as Short has not looked sharp.

I love Kramnik's chess but he can win the event with a draw, and he won't be taking risks to try and cement first place with a win. Aronian has nothing to gain by winning. This could be a snooze.

Ulhumbrus: <WinKing: Nakamura-Adams - King's Gambit Accepted!> I thought that this might be a joke, but it isn't. The Nakamura- Adams game IS a King's Knight's gambit. The McShane - Anand game is a Caro Kann two knights attack. The Carlsen - Short game is a tranquil Giuoco Piano ( I am not sure whether it is called the Giuoco Pianissimo)

Yeah Naka just fired Kaspy as his coach & hired Morphy. ;)

Marmot PFL: Kramnik is fine with draw and won't take any risks today. His 2 wins with black he also just played solidly and his opponents self destructed. Aronian has played dull chess the whole tournament so this looks like an eventual draw.

HeMateMe: It looks strange, the Naka game. The players have spent 1 hour on the first 8 moves. I would thought it was all well played theory, for 8 moves.

Marmot PFL: Only 7 moves played, don't know how to copy diagrams though
Dec-12-11  bavaria: did naka play 3. nf3 and what was adams' reply?
