Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-27-11  Penguincw: Bishops usually better in endgames, but with all of white's pawns on dark squares, black can't make much progress.
Dec-27-11  shalgo: There is no way for Black to make any progress with all of White's pawns on dark squares and White also can't really hope to achieve anything with his King tied to the defense of the h4-pawn.
Dec-27-11  Atking: I tought that 15.Bxf7+(!) was good (Peharps 15.Nf5!? 15...Nb6 ~ 16.Nxh6+ gxN 17.Qh5 and if 17...NxB 18.Qxh6 f5 19.Rf3 fxN 20.Rg3+ Kf7 21.Rg7+ Ke8 22.Qg6+ or 17...Kg7 18.Rf3. 15...Nf6 may be a better defender) But it seems that Giri saw further than Ivanchuck here. 24...b4 was more flexible. The same line gives then an edge to Black here as B can be better than N (b4-a5 pawns on black squares offer greater chance).
