Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-30-11  dusk: Maybe 21.hxg5 Bxg5 22.Qxg5 hxg5 23.O-O-O and 24 Rdh1 would be a good attack.I think the check-mate is unstoppable.

I assume this line come after Black moves his queen in the final position shown above. It's an imaginative idea, but following up with a couple of non-forcing moves after sacrificing the queen is very hazardous, since the opponent can play seemingly ridiculous moves that will still leave them a material advantage.

However, here that is not even necessary. After simply 20...Qd8 Black puts an extra guard on g5 and White can no loger force open the h-file. He retains some good pressure, but apparently decided to choose discretion a piece down with a draw offer on the table.

Thanks for responding,firstly.You're definitely right about 20...Qd8.Actually I didn't care about black's 20th move :)

After 20... Qd8 21.hxg5 Bxg5 22.g3 Be7 white continues the attack with pawns, but simply with 23.c5 black can play on queen-side.Maybe this game didn't deserve a draw. What a couple of boring players :)

Dec-30-11  Penguincw: Oh wow. Just back in forth with the bishop and queen.
