whiteshark: The <7.Lf4> Benoni is probably the most critical line for black.

Ulhumbrus: After 18 Be2 Black has regained his pawn. White has the bishop pair and is about to castle into safety. However Black's queen side pawn majority is no less than four moves ahead in development of White's King side pawn majority, and Black's pieces are a move ahead of White's in development. If other things are equal and if Black can make count his queen side pawn majority and his lead in development, Black's game will be close to a win, if his game is not in fact won.

Sokrates: Just arrived. Exactly what I thought, <Ulhumbrus>, but clearly phrased by you. I'd rather be black in this game. The crucial point is IMO c4, and black's ability to push the pawn forward later. White would use some time to deal with the matter. One thought: After white's castling, he has Nd2 threating Bf3. Thus Ra8 should move from the diagonal with the Q, but it for now it has to protect Pa7. Rf8 could be used for supporting Pc4. So what should be black's strategy after white's castling?

So what should be black's strategy after white's castling?> The pawn advance ...a5 so as to free Black's QR to move and so to leave the long diagonal so as to evade the attack Bf3.

Marmot PFL: The extended pawns can be strength or weakness. White can start an attack on them with a3, as a5 is not playable yet

Ulhumbrus: <Sokrates> An alternative to ...a5 is ...Ne4 so as to exchange the white QB which attacks the a7 pawn and to obstruct the long diagonal h1-a8 against White's KB.

Sokrates: <Ulhumbrus> Yes, thanks for the suggestions - now he chose the other possibility of the N covering c4. But he allows white to pick a time for exchanging Qs. Fortunately black has the weak Pb2 as compensation for c4 in case of an exhange initiated by Bxb6. If Vugar can hold the pressure, he's best now, but Aronian is a slippery guy! :-)

Marmot PFL: Black pawn push is looking like the Confederate advance at Gettysburg, and I think will end the same way.
