  Gilmoy: <21.Bxe6> Better from a material standpoint, but it seems worse from a plan standpoint. 21..fxe6 exposes annoying pressure on f4. 22.g3 R(a8,b8) and Black's R gets vertical penetration first, plus Ne4 with a cramp. White would struggle badly to win that (or even hold a draw).

So White already has to be happy with a draw. Then pinning the N to the R puts the shoe on the other foot: White has all the pressure, Black is tied up. That's more relaxing.

Compare those two <continuations>. A pawn up is not always the crucial factor.
