queenfortwopawns: <watwinc> I don't know about randomizing, but Levon's play seems to indicate that he's hell-bent on suffocating the white queen. By the looks of it, he's succeeding.
Apr-24-12  LoveThatJoker: Kramnik is going to easily find 23. f4 watch...1-0

Apr-24-12  fokers13: Don't see the point of Bc5 either unless he's going for sth as cheap as Bd6-Bf4+ which can be readily stopped by g3(and it doesn't even stop h4 as g3-h4 is still playable.

Meatwad: <LTJ> Maybe, maybe not. It's tough to put all your chips on the table in time pressure, especially given who you're playing against. I'd expect something slower.
Apr-24-12  Marmot PFL: I would have played 23 h4 too an active move to open a file on black's king.

boz: I'm not going to underestimate Aronian, There is method to his madness. Looks like the dark-squared bishop is being relocated. I don't think the black king is in danger.
Apr-24-12  LoveThatJoker: 23. Re2 is tremendous as well! Way to go Champ! Find the best move, Vlad! Find the best move, Vlad! *EVERYBODY* Find the best move, Vlad! Find the best move, Vlad!

Travis Bickle: Kramnik asked for a draw.
Apr-24-12  solskytz: And now what? Maybr 24. b3 and 25. Rd2?

(still trying to make the same idea work...)

Ulhumbrus: The purpose of the move 22...Bc5 may be to transfer Black's king's bishop to the long diagonal by means of the manoeuvre ...Bb6-c5-f8-g7. A less obvious possible point is that if White answers the invasion ...Rd2 with move b3 now, the bishop on c5 may go to a3 and if that is the case this may be the reason why Kramnik has played Re2, to prevent the invasion ...Rd2

Domdaniel: Reminds me of the story about John Wayne, weirdly miscast as a Roman soldier in a biblical epic. His big line of dialog was delivered in a crushing monotone: "Truly ... this ... Man ... is ... the ... son ... of ... God."

Take two.

Director: "Put more *awe* in your voice, John."

Wayne: "Awww, surely this man is the son of God".

marcwordsmith: Concerning Aronian's Bc5, the commentators on the official site were saying it was to prevent b3, kicking the knight, because the subsequent check on a3 would create some tactical activity for Black. http://www.livestream.com/kramnikar...

boz: Kramnik played 23.Re2 because he noticed that with ...Bc5 the b-file opened up.
Apr-24-12  rapidcitychess: I can only imagine what Kramnik would give to get rid of those minor pieces.

Probably his left kidney.

Apr-24-12  LoveThatJoker: Vlad is going to find either 24. b3 or 24. h4 easily.

you computer is pretty trashy too! lol!

Apr-24-12  fokers13: <ulhumbrus> certainly Bc7-Be5 was faster at least for the first scenario?

Guess it makes sense at least.
