WinKing: Wow! I need a couple of aspirin. My head hurts from trying to make sense of it all.
Apr-24-12  LoveThatJoker: <lost in space> I agree, brother!

Apr-24-12  solskytz: can black build a blockade now with ...Na7 and ...Nc6? Or will it go down to zugzwang, or to a k-side pawn advance?

Bishoprick: Is over. Guess who won?
Apr-24-12  Marmot PFL: Guess 41 Qd7 would have won the knight, but it doesn't matter.

whiteshark: Naiditsch: "The time trouble is over and white has a fantastic <41. Qd7!>"

After <41. Qe5>: " An inaccuracy, still of course White is totally winning, but at least now there is sort of a fight..."

HeMateMe: I wonder if black will be allowed to trade his knight for the passed pawn and also break the pin? He can hold the fortress, but I don't think the pin can be broken. 1-0.

Ulhumbrus: If we place White's King on d5, the move ...Nc6 can be answered by Qxf6 and Kxc6. Aronian may resign soon.
Apr-24-12  fokers13: Nc6 ftw.Prepare yourselves for the greatest swindle of all time:P
Apr-24-12  MarkFinan: Wow!! Go out for 20 mins and Kramnik's bagged it..
<LTJ> You just have to be a chick lol ;)

awalters869: ...Nc6 and then an attempt to a build fortress and hang on?
Apr-24-12  solskytz: Got to love that non-smiling Kramnik'd dancing rook!

Still - what was the plan against the ...Nc6 blockade? I know I would be embarrassed as white there

watwinc: Can Black hold the fort with nc6, or can white advance the king, sac Q for black rook and pick up the knight for a won p-ending?

Kinghunt: I think Aronian had decent drawing chances right up until 33...Kg7. From here, the win will be fairly simple for Kramnik.
Apr-24-12  solskytz: I guess bringing the K over to d5 would prevent Nc6 because of QxR check. The knight, deprived of the blockading square, would lack support and succumb one way or another.

Nice to have predicted the Qe5 pin (at a point where it was a check, forcing the reply Rf6).

Apr-24-12  Marmot PFL: Kramnik is very good with 1 e4, as long as he avoids the Marshall attack.
Apr-24-12  fokers13: I guess white king invasion plan still stands as black has zero king mobility.

Perhaps Nd8/Ne7 was possible in that case though.
