May-10-12  offramp: Nakamura is sweating he's rubbing his temples he's grimacing, picking up the clock, fidgeting, rubbing his eyes, glaring at the arbiter, scowling at the audience....
May-10-12  blazerdoodle: If he's got anything or not, he'd better get a move on it, hadn't he?
May-10-12  Snootwaller: Is Ray's clock really down to seven minutes?

Marmot PFL: Only try for white seems 29 Rd7, Rxb7 while black plays e4, e3 and see who wins the race.
May-10-12  blazerdoodle: It's been at 7 for some time, I think...
May-10-12  offramp: Black has the perfect pieces for an extremely loud, incredibly close and massively unexpected mating attack; but he has to get a rook on the second rank.

OhioChessFan: Kf7 might be best. Give up a Pawn for counterplay.
May-10-12  offramp: After 29.Rd7

Here's one for your collection of how White can lose:

29.Rd7 Rg1+ 30.Kc2 e4 31.Kd2 Nc3 32.Rxb7 Kf7 33.Nf4 Nb1+ 34.Ke3 Rg3+ 35.Kxe4?? Nc3#

May-10-12  blazerdoodle: That rook will be hard to move... ?
May-10-12  offramp: If this position appears then Nakamura will disappear out of the universe:

Marmot PFL: I think white can win this ending race as black's crippled pawns can never help each other while white's a & b pawns can If so it means white picked a good plan on move 24 unless black had something better.

OhioChessFan: I got one move right. I should quit now. Oh, I think predicting Rxb7 is safe. ;)
May-10-12  Powerthinker: Maybe Nakamura has some serious problems here, he knows it better than me.
May-10-12  offramp: I think 29...e4 might have given more counterplay.
May-10-12  blazerdoodle: I guess Robson going to lose on time, unless he starts flying...
May-10-12  theodor: what about 30.Nc7

May-10-12  offramp: Both players are getting an extra 30 seconds a move throughout - Ray cannot (hardly) lose on time.
May-10-12  Snootwaller: Ray isn't worried about the clock. He's thinking "I'll just calculate on YOUR time, old man."
May-10-12  blazerdoodle: Thanks.
May-10-12  blazerdoodle: Is white's pawn better poised?
May-10-12  SamAtoms1980: <hms123> Pretty pure mate is pretty.
